Maintenance Technician

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical background with electrical bias) to join us at Brightwake Ltd to work on a 2- shift rota basis, Days & Afternoons. We expect the role to be split approximately 60% electrical work and 40% mechanical.

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager the role will ensure that plant/production equipment is operational to meet the needs of the business in a safe and professional manner whilst demonstrating a good team ethic and ability to liaise and work well with management, supervisors, and other team members. The successful candidate should demonstrate a good knowledge and compliance with all Health & Safety policies and procedures.

 Key responsibilities include:

  • Repair Electrical Systems and act quickly to make on-the-spot repairs when electrical systems and machinery malfunction.
  • To inspect, repair, replace, adjust, install, wire, and maintain electrical mechanical equipment in the factory.
  • Respond to breakdowns in a timely manner and as per priority directed by the maintenance manager or production manager/shift manager/ production supervisor.
  • Adhere to all relevant H&S legislation and regulations.
  • Perform fault finding on electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Report and liaise any issues or concerns regards to plant/production equipment with operational managers, supervisors, and team members.
  • Complete computer-based PPM and repair logs in an accurate timely manner
  • Assist with the training and development of others where appropriate.
  • Ensure effective communications.
  • Ensure knowledge of and compliance with all Company Policies, Procedures and Rules.
  • Undertake any additional responsibilities as required.
